Sustainable Homes Programme

Changes in household habits can not only reduce our impact on the earth but save money too. The Sustainable Homes Programme takes a pragmatic approach to implementing sustainable living - one house, one street, one neighbourhood and one city at a time.

The programme The Sustainable Homes Programme is a community-based initiative. It provides householders with a practical toolkit aimed at helping improve environmental sustainability at home. The programme focuses on four major categories: energy efficiency, water conservation, waste minimisation, and transportation.

Facilitating behaviour change is at the heart of the Sustainable Homes Programme. By supporting individual households, EcoMatters is able to provide tailored support and resources to suit each household's specific situation. EcoMatters works with residents to make clear goals and commitments to sustainability.

The programme is available to all residents of Waitakere City.

Volunteers The Sustainable Homes Programme could use your help. We need volunteers to help put together sustainability starter packs, conduct telephone surveys and assist with data collection. Contact us if you are interested in volunteering.
